Advocate Himmat Singh Shergill Refutes The Allegation Leveled By Chhotepur On Kejriwal

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Advocate Himmat Singh Shergill, in-charge of the legal cell of the AAP in Punjab, on August 28 said that former State convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur was leveling false allegations on Arvind Kejriwal. Refuting the allegation of the use of anti-Sikh remarks by Arvind Kejriwal, Shergill questioned Chhotepur why he did not take any immediate notice of such remark.  “Chhotepur leveled the allegations on Kejriwal when he was exposed in a sting operation, I wonder why he did not raise this issue earlier,” Shergill questioned.
Ruling out Chhotepur’s blames, Advocate Himmat Singh Shergill said that the Aam Aadmi Party has a proper protocol of receiving donations and the receipts of the donations are always given to the donator. “Chhotepur himself accepted before media that he used to accept money from volunteers.  He also didn’t give any receipts of the Rs. 200,000 received during the sting operation,” Shergill stated.
“AAP emerged from a movement against corruption and it has a zero tolerance towards corruption,” he added.
Shergill also clarified that the gatherings of the AAP don’t depend upon the donations collected by its leaders, instead the party and its local leaders themselves manage the funding and the details of the donations are kept on record.
Advocate Shergill also criticized Chhotepur for terming MP Bhagwant Mann as an alcohol addict. He added that Bhagwant Mann already challenged all his opponents to go through a dope test.  “Bhagwant Mann has offered to go through a dope test and has challenged his opponents to do the same,” he said.
