550th Birthday Celebrations: SGPC to Organize Five Mega Seminars in India & Pakistan

15 Jul 2018 06:39 AM PDTAMRITSAR SAHIB—In commemoration of the upcoming 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji next year, the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee is chalking out a plan to hold five mega seminars including one at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib.
To chalk outline of these seminars, the SGPC’s Dharam Prachaar Committee members, senior officials and Sikh intellectuals underwent meeting at SGPC’s headquarters in Amritsar Sahib on July 14.
Sharing the details of meeting with Sikh24, the SGPC’s Additional Secretary S. Balwinder Singh Jaura Singha informed that Dr. Chamkaur Singh has been assigned the responsibility to chalk academic outline of these seminars. He added that Dr. Chamkaur Singh will work on the topics on which the Sikh intellectuals will present their research papers. “A meeting of sub-committee will be organized soon at Panth Ratan Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Gurmat Institute, Bahadargarh” he added.
  Dharam Prachaar Committee member S. Sukhvarsh Singh Pannu, S. Rampal Singh Behniwal, Additional Secretary S. Diljeet Singh Bedi, Sikh Intellectuals Dr. Balkar Singh, Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha (Principal of Khalsa College, Patiala), Dr. Chamkaur Singh (Director of Panth Ratan Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra Gurmat Institute, Bahadargarh), Dr. Kashmir Singh (Principal of Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib), Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Tek Singh etc. were present in this meeting.
