HS Phoolka Announces to Resign from Punjab Assembly Tomorrow

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—In protest of Punjab government’s failure in bringing the sacrilege culprits and killer cops to justice, the AAP legislator Harvinder Singh Phoolka has announced to resign from the legislative assembly of Punjab tomorrow. Notably, Phoolka had earlier also announced to resign on August 30.
Interacting with media, Phoolka said that he is going to resign tomorrow to build pressure on the Congress led Punjab government to take action against the killer cops. He added that the Punjab government is willingly delaying action against the killer cops so that they could get judicial relief.
On being questioned about his earlier announcement of resigning, Phoolka said that he had announced to resign just to exert pressure on the Punjab government. He maintained that the Punjab government had successfully sidelined the sacrilege issue through wrong preachment that the process of taking back police firing cases from the CBI will take 4-5 months but he didn’t let the Punjab government succeed by taking an appropriate counter-step. “I deferred my resignation at that time because the Punjab and Haryana High Court had stayed action against four police officials indulged in opening an unprovoked firing on Sikh protesters” he added.
Phoolka has said that he will write a simple resignation leaving no space for the Punjab assembly speaker to reject his resignation.
