Need More Time to Decide Upon Phoolka’s Resignation, says Punjab Assembly Speaker

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Giving end to speculations about following an nontraditional channel for sending resignation to the Punjab assembly speaker by the AAP legislator HS Phoolka, the Punjab assembly speaker Rana KP Singh on October 15 clarified that he has received Phoolka’s resignation. He clarified that he needs some time to take decision about accepting resignation as HS Phoolka has resigned on a very sensitive issue.

Rana KP Singh said that the issue on which HS Phoolka has resigned is like a broad speech so he might need more time to deliberate upon legal aspects of this issue.
It is noteworthy here that Phoolka’s resignation from the Punjab assembly was dubbed as an attempt to make preparations for contesting upcoming Parliamentary elections by the Akali as well as the Congress leaders. Punjab Cabinet Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa had even raised questions over the channel adopted by Phoolka to send his resignation while claiming that the resignations sent through emails are not accepted.
