Iron Man of Florida Pays Obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Sukhreet Singh, the Iron Man of Florida (United States), today paid obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum Sri Darbar Sahib to thank Guru Sahib for showering blessings on him. He was accompanied by his father Narinder Singh on this occasion.
Sukhreet Singh, who is the great-grandson of Master Tara Singh, had recently won the award of “The Iron Man of Florida” by giving an extraordinary performance in swimming, cycling and running. During the competition, Sukhreet Singh swam for four Kilometers, covered a long distance of 180 Kilometers on cycle and then ran for 42 Kilometers.
Interacting with media, Sukhreet Singh said that he succeeded in achieving this award with the blessings of Guru Sahib. He appealed the Sikh youths to adopt Sikhism and avoid drugs.
Congratulating the parents of Sukhreet Singh on this occasion, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal said that Sukhreet Singh has made the entire Sikh community feel proud by achieving the award of “The Iron Man of Florida” in United States of America. He appealed the Sikh youths to take inspiration from Sukhreet Singh’s achievements.
Sukhreet Singh was honored with a Siropao (robe of honor), shawl, portrait of Sri Darbar Sahib and a set of religious books by the SGPC officials on this occasion.
