02 Dec 2018 09:31 PM PSTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—The bail pleas of Sikh youths, who had hurled shoe on Sukhbir Badal’s cavalcade near Sangrur on October 4, were once again rejected by the Sangrur Court on December 1. Earlier, their bail pleas were rejected by the local Court of Sangrur on October 17 this year.
It may be recalled here that the Sikh protesters had staged a protest against Sukhbir Badal on October 4 when he was going to convene a party meeting at Gurdwara Nankiana Sahib (Sangrur) along with his cavalcade.
Later, the Sangrur police had booked around 35-36 Sikh protesters including Baba Bachittar Singh and Baba Amarjit Singh under different sections on the complaint of SAD (Badal) spokesperson Vinarjit Goldy. Six protesters including Baba Bachittar Singh, Davinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Manjit Singh, Gurjit Singh falsely indicted under section 307 (attempt to murder).
In protest of false implication of Sikh youths, the United Akali Dal leaders headed by general secretary S. Gurdeep Singh Bathinda had staged a 24 hour demonstration before the Sangrur jail on November 7 this year. The UAD leaders had posed a question to the administration that how throwing a shoe on someone could assassinate him.
