CHANDIGARH, Punjab—A local court of Mansa headed by the chief judicial magistrate Amrinder Pal Singh today acquitted the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal in a four year old case fabricated by the police. Notably, an FIR against Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal was registered at the Mansa’s rural police station under sections 420, 468 and 471 of IPC in 2014.
Inspector Buta Singh had claimed in the FIR that he was informed about a car standing in village Thoothianwali when he was on patrolling in that area. He had claimed of recovering some spent bullets from the car. Later, the Police had added the name of Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal.
However, Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal says that the police framed him in this case at the behest of the then Punjab CM Parkash Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal. He informed that he was arrested from village Kot Shamir of Bathinda district on August 21.
