New Train Connecting Five Takhts to Start from January 14
Posted: 05 Dec 2018 07:33 AM PSTNEW DELHI, India—Latest updates reveal that the Indian Ministry of Railways has agreed to begin a new train named “Panj Takht Express” connecting five sacred Sikh thrones of Sikh religion. Notably, three of the total five Sikh thrones namely Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib  are situated in Punjab while the two other Sikh thrones namely Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib (Patna) and Takht Sri Hazur Sahib are situated in Bihar and Maharashtra respectively.
The Indian Railways Minister Piyush Goyal has shared the development with Bathinda’s parliamentarian Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Goyal has informed in this letter that the train connecting five sacred Sikh thrones will start from January 14.

“Grateful for being able to fulfill a long standing demand of Sangat. Will be flagging off a special train “Panj Takht Express” linking the 5 sacred Takhts on January 14. The special train will be a boon for devotees wishing to visit the five holy Takhts. Thanks to railway minister Piyush Goyal Ji!” wrote Harsimrat Kaur Badal from her Facebook wall.
