05 Dec 2018 06:45 AM PSTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Sikh youths Avtar Singh Khalsa and Bikramjit Singh, who have been accused of hurling a grenade on the Nirankari cult’s outlet in Amritsar on November 18 , were today produced before a local court of Ajnala. Notably, Dhariwal resident Bikramjit Singh was arrested by the police in this case on November 19 while Avtar Singh Khalsa was arrested on November 24.
Media reports reveal that the Police sought an extension of 15 days in the remand of duo Sikh youths but the defense counsel Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur strongly opposed the police’s demand. Advocate Manjhpur questioned the Police about the recoveries made from the duo Sikh youths during the prior remand of more than two weeks.
On this, the police claimed before the Court that it has traced the “Google footprints” of the duo Sikh youths from their mobiles and now need an extension in their remands for further interrogating the duo Sikh youths.
Reacting to police’s claims, Advocate Manjhpur again told the Court that if Police have already traced the “Google footprints” of the duo Sikh youths then why it want their further custody. But still, the Court extended the police remand of the duo Sikh youths for six days depicting a favor towards the Police’s claims.
