20 Jan 2019 07:03 AM PSTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Navjot Singh Sidhu, the local bodies minister of Punjab, has appealed the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to refrain from converting the vicinity area of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib into a concrete jungle by allowing construction of big buildings. He has also appealed the PMs of duo countries to declare the historic place as a Heritage Village where Guru Nanak Ji spent last 18 years of his life.
In letters written to the Prime Minister of India and Pakistan, Sidhu has said that whenever he went to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib he felt spirituality in that area. “So, I request the duo Prime Ministers not to destroy the natural beauty of that area by allowing construction of Hotels and other tourism attractions” he added.
Navjot Sindh Sidhu has further said that the 104 acres of land belonging to the Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib should be preserved as an agriculture land because the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Ji had ploughed that land.
