The UN Security Council on Thursday, 21 February strongly condemned the Pulwama terror attack by the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror group and underlined the need to hold perpetrators of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice.
The condemnation by the UN's most powerful 15-nation body named the Pakistan-based terror group, Jaish-e-Mohammed in its statement, despite China’s efforts to stall it.
The 15-nation body includes China as a permanent veto-wielding member that has in the past blocked India's bids in the Security Council Sanctions committee to designate JeM chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
