Fear of Arrest Intensifies Sumedh Saini’s Outcry
Posted: 22 Feb 2019 08:54 PM PSTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Following the arrest of IG Paramraj Umrannangal in Kotkapura and Behbal Klan firing cases, the fear of arrest has started appearing on the face of the Ex-DGP Punjab Sumedh Saini. He has said that the Congress led Punjab government is emboldening the “anti-national elements” by cooking stories on the Behbal Klan and Kotkapura firing incidents for its vested political interests.
On February 22, Sumedh Saini gave an interview to a mainstream channel in which he tried to befool common masses by shedding crocodile tears on the Behbal Klan tragedy and accusing the Congress led Punjab government of misusing this case for its vested political interests.
Although the mainstream channel tried to give an impression of unbiased journalism by bringing Sumedh Saini on air, but the style of questioning by the interviewer couldn’t hide the channel’s embedment with the state and its tools.
During the interview, Sumedh Saini indirectly said that the Congress leaders are misusing the Behbal Klan and Kotkapura firing cases for their vested political interests. While refusing to comment on the arrest of the Ex-SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma, he said that the arrest of IG Paramraj Umranangal was unfair.
He repeatedly failed to present even a single point to justify his outcry or give any other detail about the Behbal Klan tragedy in this interview. Instead, he tried to justify the state excesses by terming Sikhs as terrorists and separatists. 
Commenting on the Dal Khalsa’s statement against his hue and cry on the arrest of IG Paramraj Umranangal, Saini said that the Dal Khalsa is an anti-national outfit and he tried to justify his approach by saying that they worked for the state. He added that the Dal Khalsa was targeting Umranangal because of his major role in controlling “militancy” in the state.
