JIND, Haryana (October 9, 2015)—Reacting sharply to the appointment of the SGPC Chief Secretary, Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala has appealed the Sikhs to save the SGPC from falling into the hands of anti-Sikh forces.  “If we do not save the SGPC, someone like the Hazoor Sahib President who adheres to non-Sikh philosophy will rule over our Gurdwaras,” he said.
Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala made this statement during a kirtan program held at Jind, Haryana.  Bhai Wadala was recently transferred to Haryana by the SGPC for protesting against the Chief Secretary’s appointment.  He had alleged that the newly appointment Chief Secretary Harcharan Singh has close ties with the ruling Akali Dal family and the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat.
“The 1925 act of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has no provision to hire a chief secretary.  Furthermore, SGPC senior executive level employees are retired at Rs. 50,000, however the Chief Secretary’s pay starts at Rs. 3 lakh,” he added.
Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala said that there is huge mis-use of sangat’s donations.  In addition, he added that the SGPC is responsible for destroying Sikh history.  “Very soon, even our Gurbani will be altered if we do not wake up,” he added.
