    It is human tendency to take things for granted, and we usually take those things for granted which are instrumental in shaping our lives and which help us become what we are. For example, we have failed to appreciate nature and the natural resources that humans as a race have tremendously enjoyed and exploited.
  We have been witnessing the way human activities have led to global warming and a drastic change in the climatic cycle on the planet. Nature's wrath has also been witnessed during the last few years in an unprecedented way.
  Similarly, we cannot take our past for granted because it is our roots in the past on basis of which our present would shape our future. It is always advisable to learn from history so that the mistakes that we have done in past are not repeated.
