1.      Sh Modi is setting a dangerous precedent by his insatiable desire to tarnish every constitutional office, including that of a Former Prime Minister and Army Chief.
2.
The BJP didn't exactly apologise, “It’s really taking politics to new low…”
3.      NEW DELHI: “The BJP didn't exactly apologise, but it said today that PM Narendra Modi didn't mean to question his predecessor Manmohan Singh's commitment to India when he accused him of colluding with Pakistan.
4.      “It’s really taking politics to new low... PM should not have done that, at least respect the post. Top Comment by Jaideep Karande”: TOI
5.      “During BJP’s Gujarat election campaign, PM Modi, alleging Pakistan interference in the polls, claimed that Manmohan Singh and Ansari had “secretly” met former Pakistani officials at Aiyar’s residence in New Delhi. Slamming PM Modi, Singh had accused him of spreading “falsehoods” and canards” and setting a dangerous precedent by his “insatiable desire” to “tarnish” every Constitutional office.
6.      The former Prime Minister asked him to “show the maturity and gravitas expected of the high office he holds” and apologise for his “ill thought transgression” to restore the dignity of the office he occupies”. The Indian EXPRESS

7.      I am deeply pained and anguished by the falsehood and canards being spread to score political points in a lost cause by none less than Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. Fearing imminent defeat in Gujarat, desperation of Prime Minister to hurl every abuse and latch on to every straw is palpable. Sadly& regrettably,
8.      Sh Modi is setting a dangerous precedent by his insatiable desire to tarnish every constitutional office, including that of a Former Prime Minister and Army Chief.
9.      The Congress Party needs no sermons on “Nationalism” from a party and Prime Minister, whose compromised track record, on fighting terrorism is well known. Let me remind Sh Narendra Modi that he had gone to Pakistan uninvited after the terrorist attacks in Udhampur and Gurdaspur. Let him also tell the country the reason for inviting the infamous ISI of Pakistan to our strategic Air Base in Pakistan Pathankot to investigate a terror attack that emanated from Pakistan.
10.  Statement from Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on the falsehoods being spread to score political points, in a lost cause by PM Modi. 4:25 PM - Dec 11, 2017
11.  My track record of public service to the country over last five decades is known to everyone. No one, including Sh. Modi, can lamely question it to gain lost political ground. I reject the innuendos and falsehoods as I did not discuss Gujarat elections with anyone else at the dinner hosted by Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar as alleged by Shri Modi. Nor was the Gujarat issue raised by anyone else present at the dinner.
12.  The discussion was confined to India-Pakistan relations. Names of the distinguished Indian public servants and journalists present at the dinner are enclosed to this statement. None of them could be accused of indulging in any anti-national activities.
13.  I sincerely hope that Prime Minister will show the maturity and gravitas expected of the high office he holds instead of concentrating his energy solely on erroneously conceived brownie points. I sincerely hope that he will apologize to the Nation for his ill-thought transgression to restore the dignity of the office he occupies.
14.  These people attended the meeting at Mani Shankar Aiyar’s residence, according to Manmohan Singh:

27.
The fierce-violent contest between some country weak or strong is always politically motivated. Such contests and cruel happenings are part of politics to suppress your own countrymen and or to keep on toes- sitting on the bed always to our forces including all countrymen under the garb of external threat to us.
28.  Who is more benefitted out of all this, it is purely matter diplomacy or part of back-channel diplomacy between the fiercely-violently contesting parties? Nothing could be said politically with certainty for about such contests and cruel happenings!
29.  Let it be anything, ‘An Air Tight Glass Enclosure…’ , apart from Kulbhushan Jadhav, it is a matter of concern for the maltreatment meted out to mother and wife of Jadhav by Pakistan and must  be condemned by  all. Comment by: Balbir Singh Sooch-Sikh Vichar Manch”
