Dear Sirs,
I am not a student of history and neither a research person. But I do have interest in knowing the chronology of events which changed the social and political scenario of Punjab and India with a very useful message to the whole world also. And I have no intention to jump into this fray of foul language amongst the people who claim to be civilized and advise others to be so.
We all know that Guru Nanak was born in 1469 and his exact date of birth according to christian era is well known and so are known the other dates of important events of Sikh history. We claim to be the most modern and pushing nation of the world and also claim that Sikhism contains message for whole of the world and while wishing sarbat da bhalla we stand for establishing a hassel free world Government.
We have made our presence felt in every nook and corner of the world which has adopted Christian era calender for all international purposes which is a must for facilitating the international communications.
When we claim that we have severed from our past Hindu/Muslim lineage and we are in faith neither Hindu nor Muslim  why then we refer again and again to Bikrami Calender or Moon and try to connect ourselves with that calender? Why not adopt Gregarian calender for all intents and purposes which does not admit of any Masya or Puranmashi and has set dates for celebration of Sikh events. As about Sangrand we have two Bara Mahas recorded in Guru Granth Sahib which deal with the change in weathers and remind us how to use each weather usefully. Reciting the Allmighty .
