Issue Pertaining To Pardoning Of Gurmeet Ram Rahim
Hukumnama (edict) from Sri Akal Thakht (highest Sikh temporal seat) was issued in 2007 commanding Sikhs to socially bycott Gurmeet Ram Rahim (Head of Dera Sacha Sauda) for attiring himself as the 10th Guru of Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh Sahib.
It was for  Head of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa (Haryana) to explain  that he did not commit any mistake or to apologise for the mistake made by him.
The man claiming himself as the 'Mesenger of God' failed to do so for 8 years (2007 to 2015) and has not done even now. He rather blames Sikhs that Sikhs are mistaken-as he did not commit any mistake.
All of a sudden, what was the reason which made Jathedar Sri Akal Takht to review the 2007  Hukumnama in absence of any apology from Gurmeet Ram Rahim (Head of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa) ?
The real reason behind all this drama is the coming Punjab Assembly elections in 2017 and the vote bank of Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
It is well known that Sukhbir Badal is power hungry and his lust to become chief minister of Punjab has crossed all limits.
Sukhbir controls  SGPC and he has  compelled the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht to pardon  Ram Rahim with the sole motive of grabbing his vote bank as he wants to remain in power by hook or by crook.
The  present Punjab Government is of Akali Dal Badal and  BJP alliance. This alliance being in power may use Government machinery and go to any extent to win the 2017 Assembly elections.
But it is very unfortunate  that issuing  Hukumnama  from Sri Akal Thakht  to pardon a person like Gurmeet Ram Rahim has set a bad precedent and has an element in it for erosion of Sri Akal Takht's authority.
Sikh masses are strongly opposing this Hukumnama.
The only alternative is to withdraw this Hukumnama.
The Jathedars who have signed this Hukumnama don't deserve to be the Jathedars any longer and stay in power.
A jathedar who cannot resist political pressure does not deserve to be at the highest seat.
superiority of Sri Akal Takhat must be maintained.
The exemplary examples of  how a Jathedar should be are:
Bhai Mani Singh Ji - who maintained  superiority of Sri AKal Takht
And Akali Phoola Singh Ji - who rebuked even the Maharajas.
