RE: Sanskrit and Sehaskriti in Shri Guru Granth Sahib
Dear S. Nanak Singh Nishter Jee, other Sikh Intellectuals and Well-wishers,
Waheguru jee ka Khalsa  Waheguru jee kee Fateh
Many thanks for sharing your Scholarly Views already presented on 29th/30th September 2013.
I am of the view that:
1.      Prefix “Shri” could be dropped and we can write as “Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Angad Sahib,
Guru Arjan Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib....”.
2.      Sacred Scripture of the Sikhs is: “GURU GRANTH SAHIB” as contributed by (35) enlightened
Persons. Shabds attributed to Bhai Mardana, are in fact, uttered by Guru Nanak Sahib.
3.      Instead of Seven Main World Religions, we can say: Eight i.e. (1) Judaism, (2) Christianity,
(3) Islam, (4) Zoroastrianism, And (5) Hindus, (6) Jains, (7) Buddhists, (8) Sikhs.
       4.    While describing Shri Dasam Granth Sahib, then Question arises where are other Nine Granths?
Has any other Guru Sahib compiled Granth in their individual Name? How Bachiter Natak and
such mythical Narrations written by anonymous persons could be described as Dasam Granth?
5.      Guru Period is from 1469 to 1708 and Bhagat/Bhatt Period could be from 1173 to 1604 A.D.
6.      Subsequent hearsay story regarding deputing some Sikhs to Banaras for studying ‘Sanskrit’ is
not reliable. No such need was felt by the earlier Gurus Sahibaan though Guru Nanak Sahib,
Guru Amardas Sahib and Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib had earlier visited Banaras City. Bhagat
Kabir jee and Bhagat Ravidas jee had discarded the sacredness of that city. In fact, Gurbani says:
“Banaras Dey Thhugg”! Such pseudo Nirmalas & Babas have been exploiting the innocent Sikhs.
7.      Apart from the listed languages/scripts in the Attachment, Marathi, Urdu could also be added.
Sorry for any inaccuracy.
