Tikka Hanuwant  Singh who was head of the erstwhile Nabha State passed away at the age of 69. Nabha was a prominent Sikh state having it's origin from the Sikh Misl period. Maharaja Ranjit Singh's rule was uptil river Satluj. Sikh states Patiala, Nabha , Faridkot, Jind, Kapurthala and Kalsia remained Independent states and continued even during British rule. In 1948 these were merged when PEPSU was formed in free India which later on merged with Punjab in 1966. During Gurdwara Movement Jaitu Morcha took place in Nabha State where pt. Nehru was also arrested. Maharaja Ripduman Singh of Nabha played a great role in Sikh History. He was responsible for bringing Anand Marrage Act in 1908. Bhai Kahn singh Nabha a great Sikh Scholar also was patronized by Nabha Family. Nabha Royal Family had with them most sacred Artifacts of Guru Gobind Singh Ji like Kanga with Hair which was given to Pir Budhu Shah, a Hukamnama, Shield, Robe  and Dastar of the 10th Guru. These relics  which were earlier displayed in Nabha Palace were taken and  kept at the residence of  Tikka Hanuwant Singh in Chankya Puri, New Delhi for many years.
The citizen of Nabha were agitated and had a long court battle to get back the relics in the city. They approached me and I was able to convince Tikka Hanuwant Singh who agreed and handed over the relics to Punjab Govt. Later on the State Govt. presented these relics to Takht Anandpur Sahib where these are now kept for public darshan. At that time I wrote to S.G.P.C to at least honour him for this gesture. Guru’s relics are priceless heritage of the Sikhs.

Thank You S.Tarlochan Singh Ji for the update on the progeny of  M. Ripdudaman Singh of Nabha State. He was the only person with Guru Panth Teachings at his heart than the other PEPSU States enacted by the British much before the Anglo Sikh War about which a famous poet wrote " ....Singhan Nai Gorian Dai Waangh  Nimbuua  Lahoo Cichorrd Sutai,.......  Shah Muhamada Ik Sarkaar Bajhon Faujan Jit Kai, Ant Noo Harian Nai...."
It was M.Ripudaman Singh Who was instrumental in getting the first TEEKA of Sri Guru Grant Sahib written (Faridkot wala Teeka) which is an interpretation of Gurbani by the Dera Saadhs.
It was on 14 September,1923 that Ahand Paath was to be received at the Gurdwara Guru Gobind Singh Sahib at JAITO.Because of the mistakes of the Akalidal Leaders and some Bureaucrats of the state there was a clash with the British rulers and there was a big loss of life on 21 February,1924. A Brave Gursikh Lady Bibi Balbir Kaur was walking in the Jatha with her infant son in her arms. The British fired upon the unarmed Jatha Killing  Bibi Balbir Kaur and her infant Son including many Gursikhs. The Hippocratic J.L.Nehru came to Jaito to take political advantage of the situation. When Sikhs were being dragged and beaten and made to stand in hot sun then jailed without any food or water, At that time Nehru was detained by the British.
Nehru's Father-A lawyer approached the British Authorities and got his son released from a comfortable British detention, without any kind of suffering. Finally on 21 July 1925 Akales started simultaneous 101 Akhandpaaths ( A brahamnical ritual because one Akhandpaath was sufficient as per Gurbani Teachings).
Note: All PEPSU states were on the east of River SATLUJ, except Kapoorthala that was on the west side of River SATLUJ and its boundary extended all the way to Bhunga in Hoshiarpur district where M.Sukhjit Singh who got the built High School in Bhunga village on Hoshiarpur-Dasuya Road. There are many things that were done in the interests of Khalsa Panth including one that Maharaja wanted his area to be an independent Sikh State, but the treacherous leaders like Nehru Patel etc would not let that happen.
Ajit Singh.
