FM Manpreet Badal In Power May Not, But Finally Likely To Be Frustrated Again

HIGHLIGHTS:
A. Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt Amarinder Singh for his own reasons is very likely, would not allow to Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and Navjot Singh Sidhu to act freely and positively with their spirit of sacrifice and hard work- ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ’ਚੋਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ”. and finally the Punjab
Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal including Navjot Singh Sidhu may get frustrated before or at end of their tenure of five years with Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt Amarinder Singh.
B. Again as being indicated by the Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal including Navjot Singh Sidhu, they will carry on befooling the people of Punjab, blaming Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt Amarinder Singh after…? as they are doing helplessly relating to Badal family and their associates (Corrupts by all means) now by their own couplets and or ‘From Socrates to Urdu couplets’.
C. May God Prove Wrong and Incorrect To The Author of This Note (Balbir Singh Sooch) In The Larger Interest of Punjab and Punjabis All Over In The World-Thanks.
1. Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal interspersed poetry, philosophy and economics in his maiden presentation of Budget as a Congress minister to drive home the point that courageous Punjabis would bring the state out of dire financial straits.
2. Earlier as finance minister of the Shiromani Akali Dal, he had presented three budgets from 2007-2009.
3. From invoking the famous courage of brave-hearted Punjabis to confront adversity--which in this case is revenue deficit--to quoting Greek philosopher Socrates, his favourite Urdu poet Mohammad Iqbal and Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Manpreet dotted his speech with quotes to state the poor condition of finances and the government’s determination to overcome it.
4. He said, “In ancient Greece, Socrates had to consume hemlock to shake the Greek people out of their stupor. Nearly a century ago, Shaheed Bhagat Singh kissed martyrdom at a tender age as he wanted to shake the conscience of people. The government of Capt Amarinder Singh finds inspiration in them and the government wants to stir the people of Punjab.”
5. Using the couplet, ‘Shaq na kar meri sookhi aankhon pe, aansu yun bhi bahaye jaate hein’-‘‘ਸ਼ਕ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੂਖੀ ਆਂਖੋਂ ਪੇ, ਆਂਸੂ ਯੂੰ ਭੀ ਬਹਾਏ ਜਾਤੇ ਹੈਂ, he narrated the remorseful fiscal condition, adding that he would not be demoralised.
6. He quoted Iqbal to explain the tough task ahead, “Pirona ek hee tasbi mein en bikhrey huye daano ka; gar mushkal hai toh is mushkal ko aasan karke chhodunga; dikha dunga jahan ko jo meri aakhon ne dekha hai, tujhe bhee aee surte aaina, hairan kar ke chhodunga-
‘‘ਪਿਰੋਨਾ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਤਸਬੀ ਮੇਂ ਇਨ ਬਿਖਰੇ ਹੁਏ ਦਾਨੋਂ ਕੋ ’ਗਰ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਹੈ, ਤੋ ਇਸ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਕੋ ਆਸਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਛੋੜੂੰਗਾ; ਦਿਖਾ ਦੂੰਗਾ ਜਹਾਂ ਕੋ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਂਖੋਂ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਝੇ ਭੀ ਐ ਸੂਰਤ-ਏ-ਆਈਨਾ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਛੋੜੂੰਗਾ.” (Stringing these scattered beads in one rosary is difficult though, surmounting odds I will ease it out; Will show to the world what my eyes have seen; O mirror to my face, I will leave you dazzled too.)
7. Seeking inspiration and support of his colleagues and guidance of the Chief Minister, he recited another couplet of an unnamed poet. “Na raha chand sitaron ka main mohtaz kabhi, apni mehnat ke sada maine ujale dekhe-‘‘ਨਾ ਰਹਾ ਚਾਂਦ-ਸਿਤਾਰੋਂ ਕਾ ਮੈਂ ਮੋਹਤਾਜ ਕਭੀ, ਅਪਨੀ ਮੇਹਨਤ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਮੈਨੇ ਉਜਾਲੇ ਦੇਖੇ;; tazkra us ne lakiron ka wahin chhodh diya, jab najumi ne mere hathon ke chhale dekhe ਤਜ਼ਕਰਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲਕੀਰੋਂ ਕਾ ਵਹੀਂ ਛੋੜ ਦਿਯਾ, ਜਬ ਨਜੂਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਾਥੋਂ ਕੇ ਛਾਲੇ ਦੇਖੇ.” (I have never been beholden to the stars and the planets, I have always seen the light of my endeavours; The astrologer immediately left analysing the lines on my palm, The moment he saw the blisters on my hands.)
8. Ending his budget speech with a resolve to improve the state finances, he said, “By dreaming, flowers do not bloom in the desert. Mere hopes do not result in rivers of milk and honey-‘
ਆਪਣੀ ਬਜਟ ਤਕਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੇਟਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘‘ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰੇਗਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਿੜ ਸਕਦੇ। ਮਹਿਜ਼ ਉਮੀਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਧ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਦੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਹਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ‘ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ:, “ਕੋਈ ਕਾਬਿਲ ਹੈ ਤੋ ਹਮ ਸ਼ਾਨੇਂ ਕਈ ਦੇਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਢੂੰਡਨੇ ਵਾਲੋਂ ਕੋ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭੀ ਨਈ ਦੇਤੇ ਹੈਂ”‘ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਰੇਗਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਿੜ ਸਕਦੇ। ਮਹਿਜ਼ ਉਮੀਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਦੁੱਧ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਦੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਹਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ।. The road to prosperity is laden with sacrifice and hard work- ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ’ਚੋਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।’’
