Chapter 9:
_“Operation West End is the frightening story of the death of India’s “sacred cow”: the_ _Defense establishment. It is….enough reason to lose hope in the idea of India.” Tarun_ _Tejpal, Editor-in-Chief, Tehelka.com in his essay Sleaze, Senseless Greed And Dirty_ _Heroes…….[Page 163]_
Tarun Tejpal a journalist with unusual girt and guts video taped a sting operation of the Secretary of Defense of India and some top Generals accepting bribes for a fictitious missile. Even after being caught red handed on tape these men denied any wrong doing. Ethics, morality and any sense of propriety simply does not exist in ultra corrosive Hindu-India.
_The BJP/NDA governments NCERT has decided that it will replace secular “leftist”_ _history books_ _–_ _such as those written by Romila Thapar_ _–_ _with textbooks that promote_ _Hinduvata ideology as the foundation of this new nation…….[Page 165]_
This whitewashing of history and the brainwashing of Indian children began in earnest in the early 1990’s as NCERT a government educational curriculum setting body publishes textbooks meant for all grades 5-12 across the country. This fascist ideology is so degraded that in the state of Gujarat textbooks extol Hitler as a great man. Major contributions of minorities towards freedom, economic progress, etc has no mention at all in most textbooks. Religions of minorities such as Sikhs are denigrated and ridiculed in school textbooks when they have been the greatest contributors to modern India’s progress and freedom.
Mangalwadi has honestly and accurately depicted the state of affairs in reference to Dalits and other minorities in modern day India. His solution and salvation for the same Dalits is to convert en-masse to Christianity which he propagates again and again throughout his book as he is a convert to Christianity and found peace. It maybe one of the options but in order to really make a lasting impact for generations to come there are other options including becoming Sikh, Muslim, Buddhist or simply irreligious. Humans have diluted and polluted many good Faiths but there is sometimes power in numbers. If a large enough well intentioned group would convert they could always adopt the correct principles of a particular Faith and follow it to the best of their ability and the flip side automatically takes them out of the Brahminical stranglehold. Mangalwadi is a well meaning genuine social worker who speaks from the heart. If more like him gather up the courage to convert to whatever ‘other’ Faith it will definitely save them from the daily humiliations which eat into their souls. A honest book to be read by all, about the stark realities, of Hindu-India
