1. Then, there are issues with the IAF’s ageing utility helicopter fleet. The IAF finds itself stretched due to shortage of heavy-lift and attack choppers — and its transport capability needs to be enhanced swiftly.
2. “India’s neighbours, especially China, have pressed the accelerator on modernising their air forces,” warns former IAF chief Air Chief Marshal Fali Major. “The capability gaps will keep increasing if we don’t hasten
things up.”
3. Pilot training has been hit by a lack of intermediate jet trainers. The project was sanctioned in July 1999 but it has still not materialised, forcing the IAF to use old Kiran Mk-II aircraft for training.
4. The Pathankot and Uri attacks have exposed the vulnerability of military bases. Experts say India should fast-track the security upgrade at sensitive airbases with smart fences, vibration detection systems,
mini-drones, thermal cameras and night vision equipment.

Then ‘Dakota’, being very old aircraft used to be called then as a ‘Coffin’ and the similar Aircrafts including ‘Fighter jets’ may also be flying presently by the brave, very good natured and having Godly like behavior
PILOTS in my Indian Air Force and attached elsewhere performing always similar tasks with the knowledge of the establishment of India must replace such ‘Coffins’.
That’s not important as “Manish Tewari at the AICC headquarters, Antony questioned how just 36 fighter planes would fill the IAF’s capability gaps especially when Pakistan was rapidly beefing up its air power” but the
apprehension of danger must be removed by replacing such ‘Coffins’ keeping in mind the ‘Pilots Views About Old Aircrafts Including ‘Fighter jets’ As ‘Coffins’.
The quite valid criticism of “Former Defence Minister A K Antony argued that the IAF currently has 32 fighter squadrons (Generally, one fighter squadron has 18 Jets according to A K Antony ) against an authorisation of
42, and these 36 aircraft make for only two squadrons. “Is it enough to meet the operational requirements of the Indian Air Force?” he asked. He said the UPA had decided to purchase 126 aircraft to meet urgent
requirements of the Indian Air Force”…….. “That condition is gone. Make-in-India is gone. There is no provision/condition for transfer of technology… This will cost us very heavily,” he said and Rafale triggers
political dogfight, Cong wants contract to be made public, can’t be and should not be ignored also lightly.

Pilots Views About Old Aircrafts Including ‘Fighter jets’ As ‘Coffins’:
Sharing a personal experience:
“For days together and number of times, as a Technician availed adventurous chances to fly in the ‘Dakota’, being very old aircraft used to be called then as a ‘Coffin’, while by its dropping fresh ration at the high altitude
to serving Military persons.
One day immediately and suddenly, the Captain of ‘Dakota’, being very old aircraft used to be called then as a ‘Coffin’ noticed about my flying along with them and called me in warning mood, asking me as to why do you want fly in this ‘Coffin’? Are you wanted to commit suicide in this manner?
The Captain of ‘Dakota’, being very old aircraft used to be called then as a ‘Coffin’ noticed about my flying along with them:
“No Airman likes to fly in this Aircraft while dropping fresh ration at the high altitude to serving Military persons except while its Auto set flying to Delhi etc at time of going on leave or on Temporary Duty (TD). But Pilot
like me are bound by their duties”, the Captain said while again warning me about the condition of Dakota’,
I humbly and submissively replied to the Captain in requesting way saying,
Sir, please don’t stop me from flying and let enjoy this very exceptional adventurous experience of life (Then without disclosing to the Captain that such exceptional adventurous experience of life may not be allowed to gain officially by even any President of India and or Prime Minister of India,
what to talk others including privileged and non- privileged civilians in India, in such an aircraft like of ‘Dakota’, being very old aircraft used to be called then as a ‘Coffin’ ) after duty of serving the alone aircraft, Dakota’ as my life is not more valuable than you all.
Then without disclosing to the Captain that such exceptional adventurous experience of life may not be allowed to gain officially by even any President of India and or Prime Minister of India, what to talk of others
including privileged and non- privileged civilians in India, in such an aircraft like of ‘Dakota’, being very old aircraft used to be called then as a ‘Coffin’ and the similar Aircrafts may also be flying presently by the brave, very good natured and having Godly like behavior PILOTS in my Indian Air Force.
