WHEN COW BECAME SACRED FOR HINDUS
This can be referred back to King Ashoka time . His pillars edicts point to change in the eating habits . In the time of Buddha , Buddhism became single biggest religion in India ,Brahmans supremacy was eroded . In order to gain relevance , Brahmans started following some of the Buddhism concepts . Brahmans used to perform YAJNA which consisted killing of COW . Buddhist called Brahmans ‘Gognha’ ( the one who kills cow) .
  As the Brahmans were badly looked down for YAJNA ritual , Brahmans decided to give up eating flesh , cow’s or not , altogether .
  Muslim (invaders) rule started in part of north India in 13th century by Turks . Earlier to this different parts of India were ruled by different Indian dynasties and India was neither an integral RAJ as it is today nor a single Hindu raja ruled it . Hindus are in majority in present India .
 In order to attain supremacy on minorities the majority is imposing their WHIMS on minorities . Outcomes of these WHIMS are evident . Some States of India have already revolted against these WHIMS . There are riots in some parts of the country due to forcing the minorities to accept dictates of majority .
  Killing and eating of cow’s meat is considered an unpardonable sin in our current RAJ .
Person’s food habits are person’s personal choice provided it does not invade someone’s space .
  I leave to the readers to come up with an opinion whether ban on cow killing be lifted .
