     In a first of it’s kind initiative by the Convener of I.C.F.S.S  S.Tarlochan Singh  organized a discussion on ‘ Sikh Religion and Science’ between the top Sikh Missionaries, Head Granthis and Eminent Sikh Scientists. The purpose of the discussion was to co-relate Science with Gurbani and describe the significance of age old theories, new understandings and insights and how to portray and educate the masses who attend daily congregation, about the ultimate authority of Guru Granth Sahib ji.
   The world renowned Sikh Scientists Dr.Hardev Singh Virk , Dr. Kuldeep Singh Dhir and Prof. Tarlochan Singh Mahajan were present to narrate their point of views. While among the top Sikh missionaries Singh Sahib Bhai Manjit Singh Ji, former Jathedar of Akal takht, Giani Sahib Singh Markanda, Head Granthi Bhai Ranjit Singh Ji, Bhai Rajinder Singh Ji, Bhai Baldev Singh Ji, Bhai Sukhdarshan Singh Ji, Bhai Dilbagh Singh and 20 other Sikh Kathavachaks actively participated.      
     A healthy discussion took place for nearly four hours in which arguments went back and forth. On one thing in which everybody agreed upon is the choice of the topic and its relevancy in today’s time and the need of discussion which translates knowledge into one another.

I do not know what I.C.F.S.S. stands for but  The organization of discussions is a good way to communicate on most important matters touching our daily lives. But these serve useful purpose only if we do not do such gatherings just to feed our egos only. Next year in Toronto, Canada from1st to 7th November there is going to be a gathering of people (Not just scholars or clergy but ordinary folks attending the Parliament of World Religions having seminars on various topics of the believing and non-believing world.An  attendance of about 10,000 people is expected representing various religious beliefs. There will be Gursikhs also attending that conference
I do recognize some of the names that you mentioned in your message, among them many of the Clergy types are not much familiar with the Scientific Research and the truths that it states. Giani Sahib Singh Ji is quite good progressive interpreter of Gurbani whom I met personally. Former Jathedar Manjit Singh Ji ,I did not met personally but listened to his Katha from Bangla Sahib Gurdwarta. He is very good at explaining Gurbani interpretation based on Prof Sahib Singh JI's Sri Guru Granth Sahib Darpan.
( We all know that SGPC refused to help Prof Sahib Singh to get this published but a gentleman, Bhai Sohan Lal came to the rescue to get that Darpan published that is being used for Gurbani interpretation by almost all Kathakaars. Also Prof Sahib Singh Ji refused to share his draft with Bhai Vir Singh Ji who tried hard to get the draft bur Sahib Singh Ji refused to avoid any plagiarism efforts)
  I have noticed that many of the Kathakaars at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara does not even pronounce Gurbani in exact manners. Quite often they pronounce "SHRI" when there is no such word in Gurbani. Similarly "ISNAAN" is pronounced as "ISHNAAN" there are several other example. They do not even realize what they say is herd by many Sikhs and they will learn the bad pronunciation of Gurbani Sabds.  
   THE EXACT PRONUNCIATION- UCHARAN is essential specially when they are broadcasting Gurbani to a wider public. Many Kathakaars sak, " Sri Whaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Whauguru Ji KI Fateh" when we know that adjectives such as SRI are not used with the Word "Waheguru" who is complete in all respects and does not need any adjectives to prove His completeness. Even The world "Fateh" with Sihari, used only once in SGGS JI on page 258 has been corrupted by SGPC to write as Sihari to Haha, when the Sihari is supposed to be at the middle alphabet "TATA". There are several other such examples. In Science the preciseness of everything is supposed to be respected and so is the precise reorientation of Gurbani by the preachers. Even one alphabet must not be changed or mispronounced. It has been sadly observed that all the Jathedars of SGPC who are supposed to make Panthic Decisions Strictly in Accordance with GURBANI TEACHINGS and ACCURATE SIKH HISTORY made WRONG decisions in light of obvious manipulations by the external manipulators who are anti Sikh.
   We hope that proceedings of the discussions at the  I.C.F.S.S  S. meet are made public and shaded with Gursikh to provide their perspectives on issues discussed.
    I hope the gathering of Sikh Missionaries and Eminent Sikh Scientists have also discussed the issue of ORIGINAL NANAKSHAHI CALANDAR  ? or the idea of SANJOG VIJOG , BANNAT BANNAEE. LAKH CHAURASEE JOON , idea of NARAK,SURAG, BAKUNTH, DOJAK, BAHISHAT, HELL HEAVEN etc in Gurbani explained in Gurbani, and to interpret these on Scientific basis in accordance with Gurbani ? A Discussion is healthy only if it brings out the TRUTH to the public.
    Most of the Mahant type Samprdas under the influence of RSS/Hindutva and GOI are playing havoc with the Sikh Religion as given to us So fondly by our Guru Sahibs. Sadly the SGPC appear to be quite helpless !!!!!
In my opinion GURBANI EXPLAIN TRUTH IN ITSELF IS SCIENCE. Similarly Science is Seeking Truth also to explain TRUTH. These are mutually Complementary terms that Explore and enforce KNOWLEDGE OF TRUTH.
