Shoe Hurled at Judge in 1984 Sajjan Kumar Case
NEW DELHI (April 30, 2013)–After the Karkardooma court acquitted Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in 1984 anti-Sikh pogrom case, All India Sikhs Students Federation President Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad hurled a shoe at the judge inside the courtroom. Karnail Singh was later arrested.

The acquittal of Sajjan Kumar resulted in protests outside the trial court. A shoe was also thrown at the judge inside the court reportedly. “If Sajjan can’t be hanged, then I should be hanged,” said Jagdish Kaur, a witness and petitioner in the case.
