CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh might resign from the temporal post of Sikhism in the coming days.
Sources have revealed that the Badal clan is now looking for a new obedient marionette with good Panthik image so that the SAD (Badal) could improve its image among Sikh community. If the Badals succeed in their search then the message on Bandi Chhod Diwas will be addressed by the new “Jathedar”.
Confirming the development, Giani Gurbachan Singh told the media that his physique doesn’t allow him to serve more so he has decided to resign.
Recently, the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal had unjustified the exoneration of Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim but he had negated any possibility of replacing Giani Gurbachan Singh.
Now a day after negating possibility of replacing Giani Gurbachan Singh, Longowal has said that if Giani Gurbachan Singh resigns then his resignation will be considered by the SGPC.
Sources have informed that the senior Akali leaders are proposing various names to the Badals but it is proving very tough for them to find an adequate face.
