CHANDIGARH, Punjab—To lodge protest against an inordinate delay in delivering justice to the 1984 Sikh genocide victims, the All India Sikh Students Federation has given a call for complete shutdown in Punjab on November 1. Notably, thousands of innocent Sikhs were brutally murdered during the Sikh genocide carried out by the fanatic Hindu mobs in November-1984.

Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh on October 16, the AISSF leaders Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad and Manjit Singh Bhoma said that the call for keeping Punjab shut on November 1 is aimed at passing message to the International human rights bodies about state excesses on Sikhs in India.
While appealing to the various Sikh bodies and common Sikh masses to support the shutdown call, the duo leaders clarified that the protest will be completely peaceful and the patients, doctors, milkmen and vegetable vendors won’t be let suffer on November 1.
