Hemanshu Jetley Answered: https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-reasons-for-Punjab%E2%80%99s-production-of-so-many-fraud-saints-and-babas-in-India
This answer is not to offend anyone. But, I feel that you have not done your homework well. This trend prevails everywhere in India. For example, try to count number of babas and ashrams in Haridwar, Allahabad, Varanasi. Even , the babas as named by you do not have any operations in Punjab at all. Asaram from Gujarat. Baba Ram Rahim, born at Rajasthan, ran his business in Haryana, entry banned in Punjab. Radhey Ma, though from Punjab but moved out of Punjab to set up her shop elsewhere. Nirmal Baba, a Punjabi but running his empire in Delhi. Nirankari sect, moved out of Punjab way back to settle and flourish in Delhi.
15. By and large , Punjab is land of legendary Sikh Gurus and we fellow Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which teaches us to respect every learned fellow but follow only the supreme ( Ek Omkar). Even , assuming your belief to be true , I would only like to congratulate Punjabis to have enough courage to bring the realties of these babas before public soon ( as we banned entry of Baba Ram Rahim in Punjab , way back ) rather then be gullible followers as in Rishekesh or Haridwar.
