So, what's trending today?
Amid the pandemic, the worst recession in the making, and the collective suffering, we have managed to set expectations of what “our perfect lockdown selves” should be doing. As we shuttle between work, chores, tending to family, and tapping our way through social media to ward off FOMO, we're flooded with that flawless 'quarantine cooking' picture, that ‘lockdown body’ exercise routine, and that best game to play during Zoom parties.
But, to each their own. After all, whatever gets us through this unprecedented crisis is just. The last thing we need is more criticism and peremptory calls to follow trends. Remember, there are no winners and losers in this odd limbo we are in.

Don’t be hard on yourself, and don't be hard on others, too.
This is a year of firsts for many of us. The fact that our existential crisis comes with choices, makes us luckier than many others. So do what you can, help where you can, and don’t forget to breathe. |
