Apart from naming six politicians from the secret list of intelligence department prepared in 2007, former Punjab DGP (Prisons) Shashi Kant has also leveled a very serious allegation about the controversy involving Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh in the same year which had led to intense polarization in Punjab between Sikhs and Dera followers and vitiated the atmosphere in the state very badly.
(ii)    Kant alleged on Tuesday that the conspiracy which led to clashes was prepared in Sector 9 Chandigarh residence of deputy CM Sukhbir Badal. He claimed that even the dress, in which Dera head posed like Guru Gobind Singh, was sent from outside at the behest of the government and then Rs 2.5 lakh was sent to printing press for publishing the pamphlets to publicize the event, and later hardliners and later hardliners among the Sikhs were also tipped about the event.
(iii)             "The first was given to intelligence department after Badal came into power in 2007 was mapping of Dera Sacha Sauda which involved complete details about its influence, its strong pockets, prominent followers etc. This was sought by Sukhbir Badal even though he was not deputy CM at that time. For the last seven years it is Sukhbir who actually runs the government," he said.
(iv)     "Later some fellows were also paid at the behest of the government," he said. Responding to a particular query he said that the event and clashes were engineered by the government as it was clear that Sikhs would react to any such blasphemy by Dera head very angrily," he said.
(v)       "Now SAD-BJP government is withdrawing the case against Dera head.
