No India for women: Irrespective of position, they are exploited, abused:
That a staggering one in three women has faced sexual or physical violence points to the myopic, narrow- mindedness, unfairness, intolerance of men that sees women as inferiors or chattels-property, goods.
These remarks of a Madras High Court Bench last week as it took suo motu notice of the struggle faced by a woman IPS officer in bringing to dock her senior, a Special DGP of Tamil Nadu, for alleged sexual harassment and subsequent abuse of authority to influence the case sadly sum up the general patriarchal oppression in our society.
The horrible incident of girls at a hostel in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, being reportedly stripped and forced to dance by policemen is another case of rampant misuse of power and position by law enforcers and protectors
“No country for women: Irrespective of position, they are exploited, abused: This court shudders to think as to what would have happened if the victim was an officer belonging to a lower cadre… If that is the position in which lady officers are placed, it is hard to think as to what will happen if such sexual harassment had taken place on an ordinary lady with no background.’ https://www.tribuneindia.com/
Women, irrespective of having achieved high positions in workplaces, remain unsafe from unwelcome overtures of predatory men lurking at every other corner.
That a staggering one in three women has faced sexual or physical violence points to the myopic, narrow- mindedness, unfairness, intolerance of men that sees women as inferiors or chattels-property, goods.
Incidentally, technology is coming to the rescue of victims, though many times it also becomes a source of blackmail.
The horrible incident of girls at a hostel in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, being reportedly stripped and forced to dance by policemen is another case of rampant misuse of power and position by law enforcers and protectors.
The case would have, perhaps, not found resonance in the state’s Assembly and calls for justice not made but for the emergence of its video recording. Equally reprehensible is the alleged sex-for-job scandal that has embroiled Karnataka Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi. Though pleading not guilty, he was forced to resign a day later when an incriminating video surfaced.
However, the final delivery of justice to the victims is a long haul even after the registration of the case. The NCRB 2019 report indicates a grim pendency in courts of 90 per cent and a conviction rate of less than 25 per cent in crimes against women. Instilling in boys the values of respecting girls and women and treating them as equals is essential to curb the oppression that they are subjected to”. Is Indian Nation Not For Indians Only For ‘Traders and Corporates’?
Highlights By: Balbir Singh Sooch-Sikh Vichar Manch
No zameen (land) but Man has zameer (conscience) joined twice is at the farmer protest against the new three "anti-farmer laws" and for MSP for all 23 crops; whereas, the government has zameer (conscience) only for ‘Traders and Corporates’ but not for the Indians: Why?
A man has no zameen (land) but I have zameer (conscience); that’s why he (Man with polio after travelling 400 km in 8 days on tricycle) is at the farmer protest against the new three farm laws- "anti-farmer laws" and for MSP for all 23 crops. Also read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
But on the other hand, “Referring to the ongoing farmers' agitation, Narendra Singh Tomar, the Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Minister of Rural Development and Minister of Food Processing Industries wondered how this agitation was going to benefit farmers. "Main ye manta hoon, loktantra mein asahmati ka apna sthan hai, virodh ka bhi apna sthan hai, matbhed ke bhi apne mahatva hai. Lekin kya virodh is keemat par kiya jaana chahiye, jo desh ka nuksan kare (There is a place for disagreement in democracy and so is for opposition and difference of opinion, but should there be any opposition that can harm the nation)," he said. Will ever the Indians and or their children say as said "Daddy changed the world” Floyd’s six-year-old daughter Gianna said” on the deaths of farmers dying during the farmer protest against the new farm laws known as “anti-farm laws” and for MSP for all 23 crops?

Minneapolis: His name is chanted by demonstrators around the globe. His face is displayed on murals all over the United States. Since his brutal death George Floyd has embodied, more than any other, the Black victims of police violence and racism in the United States.

He was buried in June in Houston, next to his mother Larcenia, who died in 2018 and whose nickname "Cissy" he had tattooed on his chest.
Residents of the Third Ward in Houston, where he grew up, have paid their respects with multiple murals.
