However, no action has been taken against the cult even after the passage of 12 years.
Till 2007, SGPC and Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has cited that the Congress government accommodates the cult. But When SAD (B) came into power in 2007, police opened fire towards the Sikhs who were opposing the function of the cult at Ludhiana and shot dead one Sikh named Darshan Singh Lohara.
In the period of 12 years, many other incidents have taken place in which cultists attacked Sikhs. Just 15 days ago, in Jodhpur village near Tarn Taran, Sikhs opposed the function of the cult but the cultists attacked them leaving dozen of Sikhs injured seriously. The injured Sikhs included Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala and Bhai Tarlochan Singh of Guru Granth Singh Satkar Sabha.
Just after 15 days, the holy Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib was burnt by cultists. Police have claimed to have arrested 4 accused. In Bhog ceremony held for burnt Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib, SGPC and Akal Takht Sahib appointed jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh agreed with the demand of Sikhs that the bases of the cult must be sealed. Besides, both the institutions have given the ultimatum to police to arrest the all culprits by Dec 12.
The other side of the picture is that, other SAD (B) leaders of Tarn Taran district Virsa Singh Valtoha, Harmeet Singh Sandhu and Adesh Partap Singh Kairon did not attended the Bhog ceremony. As per information, the serious allegations of participating function of the cult have been leveled against Valtoha.
In view of this, the question remains answered as to whether Sikh organizations, SGPC and Sri Akal Takht Sahib would succeeded to ensure the sealing of all bases of the cult in Punjab. It is a matter of grave concern among Sikhs.
