(March 13, 2015)—Today was a critical day for Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. His body has started to show signs of extreme deterioration. Committee members have stated that despite his ailing health, he has not given up the demand for release of Sikh political prisoners. They mentioned that if anything was to happen to Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, the Punjab Government and administration would be directly responsible.
It is very important to mention that before his arrest on February 26, Bapu Surat Singh was being looked after by his family members, and doctors were also monitoring his health on a daily basis. However since February 26, family members have been kept isolated from Bapu Ji. Doctors too have started to show less interest. Furthermore, they are not disclosing any information regarding health status of Bapu Ji with family or committee members.
Bapu Ji had stated earlier that he feels doctors have given him slow poison. Bapu Ji is suffering from diarrhea, as well has extreme bleeding.
Meanwhile, a list of 23 prisoners has been disclosed by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s family and committee members. Sikh24 has learned that the list will be shared publicly online within the next few days. We were told that the list has been shared with Government officials.
