STOCKTON, California, USA (April 4, 2015)—Vaisakhi is a busy month for Sikhs living worldwide. There are large scale nagar kirtans, kirtan programs, samagams, amrit sanchaars and many other events taking place in April and early May.
The Sikh Sangat of Gurdwara Sahib Stockton will be holding the 17th annual Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan on April 12, 2015, at the historical shrine of the Gadri Babas. The nagar kirtan procession is dedicated to the 316th anniversary of Khalsa Sajna Divas, or Khalsa Day. A number of renowned Sikh personalities will take part in the nagar kirtan.
Amrit Sanchar initiation ceremony will be held on April 11, at 8 AM in the morning.
Stockton Nagar Kirtan is one of the major Sikh parades organized in California. Sikhs from all over attend the celebrations. Like every year, arrangements for parking have been made at San Joaquin Fairgrounds, and buses will be transporting the sangat congregation to the gurdwara throughout the day.
