LAHORE, Pakistan—To save the Holy Scriptures of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from getting desecrated during travel checks, the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has decided to print the Holy Scriptures within Pakistan. Notably, the Evacuee Trust Property Board looks after the religious shrines and affairs of the minorities living in Pakistan.
In a press note shared with Sikh24, the Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, Muhammad Siddiq-ul-Farooq, said that the move has been taken to put control over the desecration of the Holy Scriptures of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
“Chances of desecration of the Holy Scripture always remain abundant during travel checks” reads the press note.
He said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee will also be engaged in the printing setup.
He informed us that the Pakistan government was making efforts to export ‘Amrit Jal’ (sacred water) from Sri Nankana Sahib to India and other countries to make it reach the Sikh devotees. “A well of Bebe Nanaki Ji which was out for 70 years in Nankana Sahib has been also restored,” adds the press note.
ETPB’s Chairman Farooq also informed Sikh24 that a turbine has been installed at Gurdwara Panja Sahib to generate electricity from water.
