Later after the incident, Gurpreet Singh spoke with Sikh24 and provided details of the incident. He informed that he was forced to remove his articles of faith when he had gone to attend the examination. “They did not allow me to take the exam and said that I must remove the kirpan and kara if I wanted to enter the examination hall,” said Gupreet Singh.
He added that he was also humiliated by the officials present at the examination centre. “I have lodged a complaint against the staff of Examination centre at the Chief Minister Grievances Window. If there’s a need, I won’t refrain from approaching the court if not availed Justice by the Chief Minister,” he added.
Gurpreet Singh said that such humiliating incidents have been inclining rapidly from last few years. “In Haryana, the incidents have been inclining dramatically since the Bhartiya Janata Party has formed state government in Haryana under leadership of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar,” he added.
