Income Tax Dept Lodges Criminal Case Against Captain Amarinder Singh

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Ahead of the 2017 assembly polls, the Income Tax Department has lodged a criminal case against the Head of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Captain Amarinder Singh for filing incorrect information about remittance of money to/from foreign countries and assets abroad.
Prosecution lawyers shared that the Court was asked to summon Captain Amarinder Singh but Justice Jaapinder Singh ordered evidence to be presented for the case in the next hearing, scheduled for January 17, 2017.
Prosecution lawyer alleged that Captain Amarinder Singh didn’t cooperate with Income Tax Department in the case and also submitted incomplete and incorrect information.
