90th Birthday of High Profile British Sikh Lawyer

BIRMINGHAM, UK—Sewa Singh Mandla, a recipent of an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) award from the Queen, and also a high-profile lawyer in the UK crossed the milestone of reaching his 90th birthday on Wednesday.
The Sikh Network congratulated Mr Sewa Singh Mandla via a statement, recognizing him for his contributions, a lawyer who is known for many endeavours, including having gone to the House of Lords in 1983 to fight a case for a young boy to wear the dastar (turban) at school.
As a long serving volunteer at the Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha (GNNSJ) and a trustee at the Nishkam Civic Association, Handsworth, Birmingham, Mr Mandla has been recognised for his significant contribution to community and inter-faith development work in the city and the region.
