NEW DELHI—During a meeting at Gurdwara Raqab Ganj Sahib earlier today, it was decided between Jathedar Bhai Sahib Ranjit Singh and Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala to contest the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee polls together.  Their decision has been rejoiced and welcomed by the Sikh sangat of Delhi.
Earlier, Bhai Ranjit Singh was contesting the elections on his own, while Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala had also fielded a number of his own candidates separately.  During the meeting held today, it was decided that both leaders would unite to put forward a common front.
“The main motive of our unity is to defeat both Akali Dal (Badal) and Akali Dal (Delhi),” said Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala while speaking with Sikh24.
Several prominent Sikh leaders had earlier appealed to both factions to unite and defeat Badal and Sarna in the elections taking place on February 27.
Sikh24 has also learned from internal sources that discussions are underway to also form alliance with Bhai Harminder Singh Delhi, a Panthik Sikh leader who holds regular meetings with Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara.  Bhai Harminder Singh is contesting the elections under the banner of Panthak Sewa Lehar at the moment.

Badals Play Panthik Card Ahead of Delhi Elections

As Panthik groups are uniting under one platform, president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Manjit Singh GK, is attempting to present himself as a Panthik leader.  Yesterday, February 7, during a meeting Manjit Singh GK announced that Akali Dal (Badal) was committed to the ideology of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale.  He also condemned the Akali leaders in Punjab for taking support of Sirsa based Sacha Sauda cult.
Later, Manjit Singh GK posted a flyer on his Facebook page with picture of Sant Bhindranwale.
Meanwhile, Akali Dal (Badal) has received flak by Delhi sangat for giving ticket to Atma Singh Lubana.  Lubana had persuade a 1984 eye witness Satnami Bai to not file affidavit in HKL Bhagat’s case.  Satnami Bai was allegedly assaulted physically by Atma Lubana.
