Our family lost a true friend and loyal companion:
Barack Obama and his family in grief...I and most of the world sharing the grief with them!
During my schooling at school, I kept a Dog, who suddenly at mid night left home following loafer –‘avara’ dogs... then searched and found him suffering from paralysis due to... at a distance of 2-3 KMs from my home on G.T. Road, Ludhiana.
Beyond our capacity, I tried to get him treated from then only Government Veterinary Hospitals in Ludhiana-near Books Market, but all in vain...Doctors felt inability to cure him...finding no other way and his condition was unbearable for me and ended his life. Thereafter, I never liked Dogs.
Now again I feel the value of love and affection of pets- ‘domestic animals kept for companionship’ through some of my children.
“But after recollecting pain and sorrow of my Dog, I do prepare my children for facing the loss anytime as now Learned Former President of US, Barack Obama and his entire family is in sorrow, but exceptionally the most of the world is with them in this grief...
But, nobody will be with you so and in the manner. My children!!!
Except: As how learned and great Barack Obama educated to all the educated as tweeted by him as such”

It is depicted through the conversation of the character and though their thoughts how they deal with the loss of their child”. How the Theme Loss/Grief is Dealt within the Story “A Small, Good Thing” : BY RISAFOV KATINA · PUBLISHED MAY, 2018 · UPDATED SEPTEMBER, 2020
“Remembering a short story ‘Grief’: “Grief of an owner of Tonga-Horse”
“ I, Balbir Singh Sooch, read a short story ‘Grief’ of an owner of Tonga-’a light horse-drawn two-wheeled vehicle used in India’, whose only son expired but no passenger spared time for him to listen his grief of death of his only son for his solace-comfort-consolation-
As his every passenger happened to be in hurry and in return, every passenger very annoyingly rebuked him, saying to drive the Tonga fast as he (passenger) has to reach at his destination early without any delay.
Tonga owner was having no alternative except to be mum all the times he tried to express his grief to his every passenger in hurry, but all in vain throughout the day.
“Touching part of story: Finally at the end of day, the owner of Tonga tied his horse in Tabela-तबेला - ਤਬੇਲਾ - stable or shed for horses, cows, etc and went to a common place, meant for unattended lonely drivers etc to sleep. But he was getting sleep as he was feeling uncomfortable and was not feeling consolation after the death of his only son.
At mid night, it came to his mind that he has only his horse, which can console you at this moment of his ‘Grief’ as now the best companion is his horse for him in the world.
The owner of Tonga went to his horse in in Tabela and started narrating th story of death of his only son in the ear of horse and in return or response, the horse was vibrating his ear flap and his owner as owner of Tonga was feeling consoled thinking the his horse is only listening his ‘Grief’ after the death of his only son and at end felt consoled, comforted and relieved.
After this, the owner of Tonga went and could sleep at the common place, meant for unattended lonely drivers etc to sleep”.
So far I recollect the story ‘Grief’ was in B.A. of Panjab University, Chandigarh, very likely in the years 1974-76 in the syllabus of English as then, I attempted the story ‘Grief’ as a question. About the story could be verified from English Department of Panjab University, Chandigarh”.
