· They have been learning about different topics such as religious scriptures, Sikh history and
educational institutions, formation of Sikh literature, Sikh perspectives on religious diversity, origin and
development of Sikhism and Sikh spirituality. These lectures were held by Prof Amarjit Singh at Guru
Granth Sahib Bhawan, GNDU.
· Apart from the lectures, these teachers also visited educational institutions and schools being run
by Baba Sewa Singh in Khadoor Sahib and some schools being run by nonprofit organisations in city.
“Apart from some superficial differences, we noticed group learning is attuned in school students here,
whereas in the US, students are more into individual learning. Although, behaviour issues are relatable
everywhere, the importance being given to religious studies here is quite different,” said Dina Aish, a
high school teacher and member of the delegation. Their next stop will be in Varanasi, where they will
learn about Hinduism.
