Akal Takht serves 24-hour ultimatum on Punjab Government to release supporters of pro-Khalistan activist Amritpal Singh: Akal Takht has served a 24-hour ultimatum on the Punjab Government to release the supporters of pro-Khalistan activist Amritpal Singh, who have been held during the past 10 days. The decision was taken during a Panthic gathering in which members of over 50 Sikh organisations, including those of the HSGPC, took part.
The Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown on pro-Khalistan activist’s supporters after Ajnala violence in which members of the Anandpur Khalsa Fauj, led by Amritpal, stormed the police station and assaulted police officials.
Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh gave two-minute time to each representative of Sikh organisations who were present during the meeting. A number of people wearing Sikh robes gathered around the building of the Akal Takht.
Major Singh Sodhi, chief, Tarna Dal, suggested that only Akal Takht-ratified Sikh organisations should be allowed. This move will uphold the sanctity of Akal Takht among the masses and the government, he said.

Amritsar News: At the same time, the Jathedar has said that if the government does not release the Sikh youth, then under the patronage of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, the entire world will be told that excesses are being committed against the Sikhs.
Along with this, he has said that on March 29, 2023, the Sikhs of the country and abroad should put the saffron mark of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's time on their vehicles. Apart from this, a case will be filed against the news channels who published wrong news about the Sikh community in the past days.
It should be said that a meeting was called by the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh regarding the current situation in Punjab. In this meeting, 60 to 70 Sikh organizations were invited for talks. Along with the members of the organizations, the members of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGPC) have also reached it.
The meeting was called on March 27, 2023: It should be mentioned that no representative of any political class was invited in this meeting. He also sought suggestions from the Sikh Sangat in this regard. All eyes were on the meeting called by Giani Harpreet Singh. The government was also watching this meeting.
Yesterday, Punjab Police Intelligence Wing IG Jaskaran Singh also met Jathedar Harpreet Singh. Of course the IG called it a formal meeting but it is being seen in conjunction with the meeting on March 27, 2023.
Giani Harpreet Singh had said that the police are registering cases against the youth under more serious crimes than necessary while these youth have no criminal background.

Amritsar News: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ 24 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਲਟੀਮੇਟਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਗਲੇ 24 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ-ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਰਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਹੇਠ ਵਹੀਰ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਏਗਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਧੀਕੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 29 ਮਾਰਚ 2023 ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ਼-ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੇਸਰੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਲਾਉਣ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਗਲਤ ਖਬਰਾਂ ਨਸ਼ਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕੇਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਬੁਲਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ 60 ਤੋਂ 70 ਸਿੱਖ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਲਈ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ (ਐਚਐਸਜੀਪੀਸੀ) ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵੀ ਪੁੱਜੇ ਹਨ।
27 ਮਾਰਚ 2023 ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ: ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਜਮਾਤ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਮੰਗੇ ਸੀ। ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੁਲਾਈ ਗਈ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਉਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਸਨ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਖੁਫੀਆ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਆਈਜੀ ਜਸਕਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਆਈਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਮੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ 27 ਮਾਰਚ 2023 ਨੂੰ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਲੋੜੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸੰਗੀਨ ਜੁਰਮਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਦਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ’ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕੇ”।abp Live
