“LK Advani supported Operation Bluestar, claims Capt Amarinder Singh: Advani in his book 'My Country, My Life' said that he had announced support to Indira Gandhi on Operation Bluestar, claims Capt Amarinder Singh. By Manjeet Sehgal: Senior Congress leader Amarinder Singh on Tuesday dragged BJP patriarch L. K. Advani into his ongoing verbal battle with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on 'Operation Bluestar'. "BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani had favoured Operation Bluestar. Advani in his book 'My Country, My Life' has himself said that he had announced support to Indira Gandhi on Operation Bluestar.
Not only this, many BJP leaders were also involved in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. I came to know about these leaders as I and former Punjab Assembly Speaker Ravi Inder Singh had visited the riot- affected areas," Amarinder said.
He said the documents related to Operation should be made public so that names of the people responsible for it come out in the public. The former PCC chief also kept the heat on Badal, asking him to clarify if he had met a union minister in Delhi before Operation Bluestar.
