NEW DELHI, India—On the eve of the Bandi Chhod Divas today, the Ex-DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK, along with several other Sikhs, has offered prayer in front of the gate of Tihar Jail for the release of Sikh prisoners. Notably, the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara is also languishing in the Tihar jail.
  Interacting with media, Manjit Singh GK said that a number of political Sikh prisoners were being confined in the Tihar jail. “We have offered prayers before Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji for the release of these prisoners,” he said.
  He further said that these political Sikh prisoners were not criminals at all instead they stood up against the massacre of innocent Sikhs committed by the cruel Indian government so they deserve to be released.
  “We will keep on praying for the release of these Sikh youths every year on Bandi Chhod Divas,” he said while expressing hope that some prominent political Sikh prisoners will get released till next year’s Bandi Chhod Divas.
