LUDHIANA, Punjab (July 10, 2015)—Ludhiana shutdown call given during the July 6 Panthik Conference reportedly received huge response today in support of old-aged Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who is on hunger strike since January 16 for release of Sikh political prisoners languishing in various jails of India.
As per information availed by Bandi Sikh Rihai Sangharh committee convener Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, complete shutdown was observed in the metro city that hit routine life of the residents and commuters.
It is worth mentioning that the shutdown call was given by the Sikhs gathered at Bapu Surat Singh’s village Hassanpur unanimously against inaction of Punjab government in meeting the demands of Bapu Jee whose health condition has deteriorated at critical point.
