Narendra Modi will not win in 2019 Lok Sabha elections: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister and Arvind Kejriwal has time to time attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over an array of issues. As political parties gear up for assembly polls, Kejriwal has again trained his guns at the Prime Minister, saying the BJP will fail to replicate the astounding success of 2014, and may fall short of securing majority in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Kejriwal claims the country's middle class is "disenchanted" with the ruling dispensation. BJP will win less than 215 seats, he claims. A party needs to win 272 Lok Sabha constituencies to get the absolute majority in Lok Sabha.
Claiming unemployment as the biggest problem facing the country, Kejriwal on Monday tweeted that there is a consensus amongst all that BJP is getting less than 215 seats. His statement has come even as BJP chief Amit Shah had said his party will surpass its current tally in 2019 Lok Sabha elections and is ready to face any challenge posed by Opposition.
Kejriwal-led AAP is trying to expand its footprint outside of Delhi and Punjab. So far, its plan has failed with drubbing in last year's Goa and Gujarat assembly polls. This year, they are eyeing Karnataka, Rajasthan and Meghalaya Assembly elections.
While BJP will be once again banking on "Modi magic" to get a strong mandate, Shah will be the main organiser as he is considered the architect of the saffron party's electoral triumph in the last Lok Sabha polls and many subsequent state assembly elections. Shah had earlier exuded confidence that his party will maintain its overall sweep of northern and western India, while substantially boosting its numbers in the North-East and southern states, besides West Bengal.
Notably, BJP is in power in 14 states and in five other states, it is the ruling coalition. AAP is in power in Delhi. A host of states will go to assembly polls this year, including Karnataka, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh will be the key focus.
