AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—In a surprised move, the Cabinet Minister of Punjab Navjot Sidhu today said that culprits like Jagdish Tytler need to be hanged openly in the public. His statement against a leader of his own party has sparked a new debate among common masses.
Justifying his statement, Navjot Sidhu said that anyone who is guilty of such a heinous crime should be hanged irrespective of his/her party background or religion.
Navjot Sidhu’s statement has come in relation to Jagdish Tytler’s confessional videos about massacring innocent Sikhs during Sikh genocide of 1984.
It is being expected that Navjot Sidhu might have to face wrath of party’s high command for speaking against his colleague.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Shiromani Akali Dal affiliated Parliamentarians on February 6 met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh seeking Jagdish Tytler’s arrest at the earliest. Serving Parliamentarians Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Prem Singh Chandumajra and former Parliamentarian Tarlochan Singh were part of this delegation.
Trio of the parliamentarians appealed the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to take notice of the confessional videos of Jagdish Tytler and intervene in the matter to facilitate his arrest at the earliest.
Interacting with media, these Parliamentarians informed that they were also making efforts to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that Jagdish Tytler could be brought to justice as soon as possible.
On the other hand, BJP’s national secretary R.P Singh has also lodged complaint against Jagdish Tytler to Delhi’s Assistant Commissioner of Police on February 6.
It may be recalled here that on February 5, the DSGMC President Manjit Singh GK had released five confessional video clips of Jagdish Tytler in which he could be heard confessing the murder of 100 Sikhs during 1984 Sikh genocide. These video clips were parceled to Manjit Singh GK by unidentified sources on February 3.
