DIG Khatra Accuses Sikh Preachers of Stealing Desecrated ‘Angs’ from Kotkapura

24 Aug 2018 08:39 AM PDTCHANDIGARH—In a dramatic move today, the DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra leveled allegations on the Sikh preachers like Bhai Panthpreet Singh, Baba Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala, Bhai Sukhjit Singh Khose and Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal of stealing the desecrated  ‘Angs’ from Kotkapura. Khatra’s sudden emergence before the media is being considered as an attempt to create a diversion of opinion among common masses to deliver an ultimate benefit to the Shiromani Akali Dal.
Interacting with media today, DIG Ranbir Singh Khatra said that the ‘Angs’ desecrated at Bargari on October 12, 2015 had gone missing when they were being carried to Kotkapura in the form of a procession by the Sikh masses headed by Sikh preachers like Bhai Panthpreet Singh. He added that there was no need to carry the desecrated ‘Angs’ to Kotkapura but the Sikh preachers active there did it intentionally.
“The Police come across another sacrilege when the desecrated ‘Angs’ gone missing, but the Sikh preachers weren’t giving us any clue about who stolen these desecrated ‘Angs’ from Kotkapura” he added.
While making statements in favor of SAD-BJP alliance, DIG Khatra said that there was a lot of pressure on him from the SAD-BJP led Punjab government to unearth the conspirators of sacrilege as it was an extremely emotional issue. He further said that he didn’t receive even a single call asking him to refrain from taking anyone into investigations. “Our investigation got wings with the arrest of Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim on August 25, 2017” he added.
It is pertinent to note here that at the time of the arrests of Sirsa cult disciples few weeks back, some newspapers had reported that DIG Khatra was asked by the SAD-BJP led Punjab government not to take any action against the guilty Sirsa cult disciples.
