SIT Interrogates Gunman of Ex-SSP Charanjit Sharma

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Shamsher Singh, a gunman of the former Moga SSP Charanjit Sharma, was reportedly interrogated by the Special Investigation Team in Phagwara on January 31. Beside him, several others were also interrogated by the SIT members ADGP Pramod Kumar, IG Arunpal Singh and Kapurthala SSP Satinder Singh.

Sources have informed that the interrogation begun in the ASP Office (Phagwara) during the afternoon hours, which continued till the late evening hours.
It may be recalled here that the Ex-SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma was arrested by the Special Investigation Team on January 27. A police team headed by a DSP rank officer had arrested him by conducting a raid at his residence in Hoshiarpur. He had tried to escape during the police raid by crossing the boundary wall of his, but he couldn’t succeed due to strong besieging.
It is pertinent to note here that Ex-SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma was booked under section 302 of the IPC in Bajakhana police station for opening an unprovoked firing on peacefully protesting Sikhs at Behbal Klan in which two Sikh youths were martyred and several others were left injured.
