SIT’s Chargesheet Blaming Sukhbir Badal for Sacrilege Incidents Becomes Controversial with Strong Objection by SIT Members

01 Jun 2019 07:34 PM PDTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—A few days after its submission in the court of judicial magistrate Ekta Uppal, the chargesheet prepared by the Special Investigation Team has attracted controversy. Upset over irrational of IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh on sacrilege cases, the other four SIT members including its head ADGP Prabodh Kumar have separated themselves from this chargesheet and have stated that they were never taken into confidence about filing this chargesheet.
Sources have informed that the IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh continuously remained working on sacrilege cases even when he was removed from the Special Investigation Team by the Election Commission. Although, he cleverly kept on preparing the case diaries till poll code was in effect, but he left some clear clues like signing on date 23-05-2019 which exposes the reality.
Further, IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh also got the witnesses testified from six other DSP rank police officials who are working in the Organized Crime Control Unit i.e. from where the IG was transferred by the Election Commission.
It is learnt that the chargesheet doesn’t have signatures of any of the other four SIT members namely ADGP Prabodh Kumar, IG Arunpal Singh, SSP (Kapurthala) Satinder Singh and SP Bhupinder Singh.
It has come to fore that the other SIT members have registered their protest to the Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta while saying that neither were they taken into confidence nor they were shown the copy of the chargesheet before filing it in the Court on May 28.
It may be recalled here that the Special Investigation Team had termed the sacrilege and firing incidents as a pre-planned handiwork of the Ex-Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal, Ex-DGP Sumedh Saini and the Sirsa cult in the chargesheet filed in Kotkapura firing case. The SIT had filed this chargesheet in the court of judicial magistrate Ekta Uppal on May 28 i.e. a few hours after the reinstatement of IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh as SIT member.
